We know that most students have challenges with their academic papers that begin with the poor selection of study topics. The whole thesis will not be accepted by the department if it is not given the best foundation where the foundation in this case is proper research topic, good research objectives and reasonable research design and methodology to achieve the stated objectives.
A research proposal contains three main chapters: chapter one contains the background to the study, the study objectives, research questions, significance to the study and limitations of the study. It gives an account of what the study is all about. The second chapter is literature review where literature review gives the previous works that were done by other scholars in the same theme under study where it addresses their findings and how they would inform the findings of the study. The last chapter is chapter three that defines the methodology that will be used by the researcher in achieving the research objectives. It gives the target population, the sample design and the methods of data collection that will be adopted by the study.
